He was talking about Billy Chapel, who had just hurled a fine 2-hit shutout over the Chicago (A) White Sox. He had 13 strikeouts and 1 walk in the Texas 10-0 victory.
"An outstanding job," the Chicago (A) manager said. "We couldn't get anything going. Every time we got a hit, he got out of the jam. He pitched a terrific game."
This year Chapel has a 2-1 mark in 5 starts with a 5.40 ERA. He has given up 36 hits in 33.1 innings, struck out 43 and issued 8 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .273 batting average against him. |  | Thursday, April 17th, 2008: Cloude Tosses Shutout Against Boston In a knockout performance, Ken Cloude beat the Red Sox 1-0 with an impressive 4-hit shutout.
The White Sox hurler finished with 5 strikeouts and 3 walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.
Cloude told reporters after the game, "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working ...it don't get any better than this."
The Red Sox manager said, "It was a rough one for my guys. We weren't at our best...and their guy was."
